January 18, 2021 selects new batch of most promising scale-ups in the Netherlands for prestigious Rise Programme

BOTS, ChannelEngine, Convious, Crisp, Meetingselect, Media Distillery, Social Database, Swipeguide, Plotwise and Wonderflow have been selected by a jury led by Special Envoy of, Constantijn van Oranje, for the third batch of the Rise Programme. With this ambitious programme and top entrepreneurs like Pieter van der Does (Adyen), Derek Roos (Mendix) Ali Niknam (bunq), Steven Schuurman (Elastic), Chris Hall (Bynder), Michiel Muller (Picnic) and Corinne Vigreux (TomTom/Codam) are committed to accelerate the international growth of the most promising scale-ups in the Netherlands.

During the programme, the founders of the ten selected scale-ups are encouraged to learn from each other about the challenges of scaling up a company. They will receive support and feedback from top Dutch entrepreneurs who will share their own insights and lessons learned with the new batch of promising scale-ups. The insights from the programme are also shared to further improve the tech ecosystem in the Netherlands and to define bottlenecks and solutions for the growth challenges of scale-ups. In this way Techleap Rise plays an important role in the ambition of the Dutch government to make the Netherlands the best ecosystem of Europe. As part of the programme, also puts the entrepreneurs on the international map in the eyes of governments, corporates, investors and the media.


The criteria to participate are strict: a scale-up is eligible for the program if they meet at least two of the following criteria: currently raised €10M+ in a funding round or they are preparing to raise this amount in their next round (likely to have been previously funded for €2-5M); annual revenue of over €1M; more than 20 FTEs employed; at least 100% growth year-on-year and a clear understanding of the product/service and market they serve. Participants in this batch have an average of 35-40 people employed and 170 percent revenue growth in 2019.
